Character Name: Meryl Stryfe
Character History: Wiki link!
Canonpoint: Episode 11, while watching Vash (at ~99%), with her leg stuck under a root.

Guild Choice: Menders Guild! She'll like to have the ability to help her constantly-in-danger friends, so she'll be able to contribute more and apologize less. She's tired of seeing them get hurt.

Element Choice: Earth, fire, water!

Canon Powers: No powers, she's just a small human.

Character Wish(es): She openly wishes to be a top tier journalist, maybe even make her way to the absolute top someday. A little less openly (but still clear), she wants to keep following Vash with whatever he does, though she can't quite articulate why at this point in time.
Character Fear(s): Losing more people she cares about (Vash and Wolfwood, in particular), or failing to help someone right in front of her that she could feasibly help. She can't let herself feel that guilt and regret again.

Strengths & Weaknesses:
Strength; Headstrong→ Meryl is often difficult to stop from doing things, running headfirst into dangerous situations and setting lofty goals for herself. She won't take no for an answer, and even when faced with the likely prospect of dying, she follows through with what she feels she needs to. A notable example is when Roberto tries to get her to part ways with Vash, and she won't let the issue go, to the point of needing to strike a deal (that their lives won't be in danger) in order for him to agree to allow her to follow him. Their lives do end up in danger soon after, and yet that still doesn't stop her. She generally knows what she's about, and she acts on it.
Strength; Caring/morally upstanding→ Sometimes the way she goes about it isn't the best, but she keeps the safety of people in mind — notably, her tendency to stop Roberto from his smoking or drinking habits, even up until the end when he's bleeding out. More than that, however, it shines through in the way she gets involved with the incidents around her — something that, as a journalist, she isn't obligated to do, and that Roberto is constantly reminding her of. She could leave at any time to go back and write her articles, but she never chooses to, instead "adopting" the lost puppy Vash, trying to save people they come across, and ultimately risking her life several times to do what she can for those in need.
Strength/Weakness; Curiosity→ Meryl is often found trying to find the truth, though while one might expect that of a journalist, it's more due to her nature. This curiosity fuels her to find answers, which in itself can be a good thing that benefits her understanding of things, but on the flip side, this puts her in danger more often than not. It's commented that she must have some kind of death wish, following characters that could easily kill her just because she sees it as a chance for information. She's reckless in that way.
Weakness; Ignorant of the world→ She has a lack of knowledge about the wider world. It's hinted at that she may have grown up somewhat sheltered, especially considering how little she knows about the roughness of life outside of the bigger cities. She's either shocked or incapable of dealing with things that seem to come easily to others in her world, like poor drinking water or eating worms to survive. It's a rough world that she clearly hasn't grown up in herself, which provides setbacks — often, her knowledge is limited to what she read in a textbook.
Weakness; Physically weak→ It's obvious, but she's small and lacks any sort of super power. Like previously stated, these sorts of set backs don't stop her, but she does experience hardship as a result of them, being unable to fend things off herself or stop terrible things from happening — oftentimes, all she has is the ability to run or hide. It's her personality — her desire to find what she can do and do it without too much thought — that allows her to muscle through.

Sample: A bakerstreet thread!
